How to point your GoDaddy Domain to your SiteGround Hosted Website

Pointing your GoDaddy domain to your SiteGround hosted website involves updating your domain’s name servers to point to SiteGround’s servers.
Let us help you in a few simple steps!

Step 1: Gather SiteGround’s Name Servers

The SiteGround name servers that you should use to point your domain to us are:

  • ns1.siteground.net
  • ns2.siteground.net

Copy these for use inside of GoDaddy.

Step 2: Update GoDaddy’s Nameservers

  1. Log in to your GoDaddy account and navigate to the “Domains” section.
  2. Locate the domain you want to connect to your SiteGround-hosted website and click on the “Manage” button.
  3. Under the “Settings” tab, scroll down to the “Nameservers” section.
  4. Click on the “Change” button and select the “Custom” option.
  5. Paste the two SiteGround nameservers you copied earlier into the “Enter Custom Nameservers” fields.
  6. Click on the “Save” button to update your domain’s nameservers.

Step 3: Wait for DNS Propagation

Once you’ve updated your GoDaddy domain’s nameservers, it may take some time for the changes to propagate throughout the internet. This process is known as DNS propagation, and it can take up to 48 hours to complete. During this time, your website may be unavailable to some visitors.

After the DNS propagation period, your GoDaddy domain should be pointing to your SiteGround-hosted website, and visitors should be able to access your site by typing your domain name into their web browsers.
