Instructions To Migrate your website from godaddy to siteground

We’re so exited to be working with you! To help make your website migration easy, here are a few simple steps to set up your new hosting account and move your website from GoDaddy to Siteground.

Step 1: Create Your Siteground Account

Go to:

Select “Get Plan” on the plan that we recommended in our communications.

Step 2: Enter Your Domain

  • Since you’ve already own a domain, and have current credentials in GoDaddy, you will choose “Existing Domain”.
  • Type in your domain name in the “Enter your domain” box.

Step 3: Add Contact & Billing

  • The final step is to fill out the contact , billing, and payment information.
  • You will also be given the option to add domain privacy, which we highly recommend to protect your personal information.
  • Finally, click the “Pay Now” button.
  • You will receive an email of your receipt and login details, where you will be guided on verifying your account and creating your account password.

Step 4: Transfer Your Website

If your GoDaddy Hosted Website is a WordPress site, the process is very simple using Siteground’s Siteground Migrator Plugin.

Siteground has an easy-to-follow tutorial on how to transfer your WordPress site to Siteground using the Siteground Migrator Plugin.

To successfully transfer a non-WordPress website from GoDaddy to Siteground, you will need to reach out to an experienced developer for assistance.

There are two options for your migration:

  • Manual File and Database Transfer
  • Replication of your old site into a new WordPress site (Recommended)

Step 5: Transfer Your Domain

You have the option to transfer your domain to Siteground or to keep it inside of GoDaddy.

If you decide to keep it in GoDaddy, You will need to update the DNS records to your new website IP.
